Superbowl Forty-Five

Yesterday might have been the first time I watched a Superbowl/football game and kinda understood what was going on. I was rooting for the Packers because I had read bad things about some of the Steelers players. Harrison and the quarterback. Harrison was fined more than the entire Packers team this year for roughplay. I know football is a violent sport but for one person to be fined more than an entire team tells me his level of roughness falls outside of the norm. The quarterback Roethlisberger (or however you spell it) has a problem with being respectful towards women. So I can’t support bad people winning the Superbowl. And maybe they’re not bad people but they do bad things, and I don’t like rewarding bad behavior. As it were, the Steelers played badly and the Packers played well and won. Yay!

The commercials were entertaining. I liked the Darth Vader kid in the Volkswagen commercial and the Doritos commercial where everything was brought back to life with a sprinkling of Doritos. The Chevy truck was also good where the family’s son kept getting trapped in the craziest situation and the truck had to rescue him. Now I don’t know that I’ll ever get into football but I think I’m finally starting to understand bits and pieces of it. It’s really not that complicated. The offense gets 4 tries to make 10 yards and if they don’t they will probably punt the ball far so the other team will have more yardage to make before they get it to the touchdown part of the field. If they make 10 yards in the 4 tries they get another 4 tries to make another 10 yards and so on and so forth. Easy peasy! I hope this is right. After they make a touchdown some guy gets a chance to win an extra point by kicking the ball through the yellow poles. It’s like a field goal or something. Ok, I’ve exhausted all I know about football. The food at the Superbowl party we went to was delicious. BBQ ribs, pulled pork, jerked chicken, chile lasagna, cheese and bagel chips, cookies, cupcakes, beer, and so on and so forth. Somewhere in there were some veggies.

  1. Don’t forget Aaron Rodgers played for Cal! :)
