Today marks one month I’ve been at my new job. Four weeks into it and all I have to show for it is that I know the people on my team. I have four passcodes. I know my boss’ phone number. I know my own phone number. I know how to get to my desk and my boss’ office. And I know how to exit the building in the case of an emergency. I spent the first week in a bit of distress, sort of a buyers’ remorse at taking this job knowing it was going to have issues. They all do. Then I spent weeks two and three updating my resume and poking around for a new job. Now at week four, I’m thinking I’ll just hang out here for a while longer. Who knows, maybe I’ll learn a thing or two about politicking. In the meantime, I’m gonna stay positive about this. I mean, now I can finally take the Metro to work and my commute is only 40 minutes!!!, my boss seems relatively okay, I have a few therapists at work, and I only work four days a week. Hurrah!
