		<description>The statistics are hard to come by, because the acreage keeps changing every year.  But that said, the basic order of wine producing states in the country is something like this: 

California
Washington
New York
Oregon
Texas
Virginia
Idaho 
Pennsylvania
Michigan
Missouri 
North Carolina

But in the lower parts of that list, a single vineyard going into production, or coming out of production, makes a difference.  Hope that helps.
