Coworker #1: Lawyers are greedy.
Me: What happened?
1: I called my lawyer to ask a question about the child support and she charged me $36 for a 6 minute phone call. And she didn’t even call me back with an answer!
Me: What?!
1: That’s why lawyers have a bad name. They’re greedy.
Coworker 2: Yeah.
Me: I’m so disenchanted. I’m starting to rethink my assessment that most people are decent and good. I just don’t know anymore. I don’t think I’m a good judge of character.
2: Don’t say that. You haven’t met everyone in the world yet have you?
1: Hahaha.
Me: I’m serious. Maybe I need to set my bar lower so I’m not disappointed. But see, I always say that and then get disappointed anyway because I don’t really do that. I can’t help it.
1: Well, I’m nice.
