Night Blooming Cereus

Three are blooming tonight.  There’s a light, pleasant fragrance and the flowers come and go in one night. Catch it while it lasts!

Here’s My New Baby

Took her out for a spin this morning. Still have to work on the dismount and gear switching. I’m not sure if the gears are switching or quite how to hop off a bike without seemingly tipping over. Not exactly graceful yet.

Oh, by the way, for the cycling dweebs, I added the kickstand.  I’m a bike newb and I need it.

New Toy!

I got a new bike!!! I’m so excited and happy! :) Found it on craigslist, wasn’t sure if it’d fit me, but I decided to go and test it out. It’s a mountain bike. The original owner posted this:

This is a really nice bike that I only used to commute less than a mile to work for a couple weeks after I got it last summer. Since then, it’s been sitting safely in my living room going completely unused. Being lazy and generally not spending much time outdoors, it’s about time I stop trying to tell myself that I’ll get around to riding it again eventually and make some money back from it.

And true to his word, the bike looks new. In fact, he showed off his paunch belly to prove he hadn’t been riding it. hehe. Funny, when I first read this advertisement, I thought the seller was a girl. Well, that, and the fact that this bike is a smaller size and I incorrectly assumed short = girl. So the rest of the story was, he bought a car and the bike became a wall ornament. Now it’s my toy, and I love it!

The Fourth ‘o July

It’s raining right now with thunder and lightening too, so not going to go see the fireworks after all.

Went to this event earlier:Golf

And got to see him practice for a bit.
Tiger

I know, the photo is too small to even make him out, but that’s the host of the game, T. Woods. He’s very consistent, almost robotic. For just about every swing, he’s positioned the same way. Oh, and I learned something new, there are 18 holes to a golf game.

This country club doesn’t believe in recycling. But then again, since when did golf courses care about the environment? They need lush green lawns.
