Out of Practice

BaaAAck in the day, granny here used to take the bus and metro to work. Now, ten months after not commuting on public transportation (which I truly love by the way, just wish it was more expansive), I am rusty. This morning, I took the bus to the metro station and took the train to another station where I had to catch another bus (this is where I wish the rails covered more locations). Said bus route shared the same number but were actually two different routes with different destinations. You already know where I’m going here with this. Yeah, I took the wrong route and ended up at some other metro station. Apparently, I wasn’t the only clueless one. I had a bus companion who did the same exact thing! Why did they share a number between two routes? Did they run out of numbers!? I mean, even if they had 1,000 bus routes, all they had to do would be to add one!! Anyway, three hours after leaving home this morning, I arrived at my final destination, Sudoku done, crossword puzzle started. Whew, ready to turn right back around and head on home. :) I have to say though, today was bee-yuuu-tiful. Temps were in the 70s, and just the right amounts of sunny and cloudy.

  1. where were u tryin to go?

  2. Just going to work. Today was much better. :) I even saved myself $0.35 because I realized I had a transfer for the bus from the first bus ride. It’s all coming back to me, just like riding a bike!

  3. Whaaaa, you’re trying to commute to work on public transportation? Wow, that’s hard core dude, and this is coming from me and you know I love public transportation. How long does it take when everything goes right?

  4. 1.5 hours. Not bad at all, since all I’m doing is Sudoku and crosswords.
